Netflix has introduced a new tier to its lineup for customers. Titled "Basic with ads," users pay $7 a month to watch the streaming service's content in 720p with ads. However, due to licensing rights, there are more than a few movies and TV shows not included in this plan. In fact, there are over 250 titles that are simply locked away from those using the ad tier.
The new ad-tier does a very good job at hiding content you can't access from your home screen. Occasionally, in the Top 10 sections, you'll see a movie with a red lock in the upper-right hand corner of the image. However, there's no real easy way to find all the content you can't watch with an ad-tier account.
So we went through Netflix's search, for hours, to find every movie and TV show we were locked out of, and there were a lot of surprises. Licensing agreements can be a bit tricky, and most of the time, we have no clue as to what the details are, but there were some obvious things we figured out along the way.
